Making a Living Week: Intern Magazine

The start of Making a Living Week has been intense to say the least. It’s been extremely beneficial because I enjoy hearing from practitioners in Hothouse. The end of the day was a talk from Alec Dudson, editor and founder of Intern magazine.

During this talk Alec discussed how crowdfunding was used to start Intern magazine (which is a topic we are looking at further tomorrow). Since the initial crowdfunded first issue in 2013 there have been three more issues released, one of them today which yes I did buy because I’m weak and I can’t resist print! Alec’s aim after being an intern himself, is to showcase emerging creatives and create debate over unpaid internships and working for free.

To ensure that we are truly for and by the creative youth, all of our output is either by or features the people we represent.
