Impression: Book Design Case Studies

This morning we were in our Anthology design groups and had to select a range of books to analyse. The aim of this task was to look at book design that could inform our own proposal in a few weeks.

Only myself and Hannah were in this morning so we only got through analysing one book. We looked at The Jet Age Compendium: Paolozzi at Ambit, which was a beautifully designed book and an essay that was presented in a thick plastic cover.  The pair of us loved this book and has given us a few ideas. One of these is similarly have one more expensive book and then one zine like book so we could spend some of our budget money on sleeves. Next week we will be visiting Four Corners Books who printed this book so me and Hannah are hoping we can talk to them about this design and see if this would be a possibility with our budget of £500 to make 300 copies.
