Ladies and gentleman, the end of university is now in sight! The outcomes for this brief are definitely helping to make it feel real and ready for the ‘real’ world, and I must say I’m pretty excited.
This brief has definitely solidified the fact that university is nearly finished! It’s ensured that I’m almost ready to start applying for work in the creative industry, which at the start of the year and even around the Christmas break I didn’t really see possible!
Well. Where do I start…? I think probably I’d like to say now that for digital printing or time limits sending something off to print rather than printing it myself is the best bet unless it’s reproducing something similar to what I’ve done before.

Since I’ve been in uni my Instagram has changed a lot and actually, all of my social media platforms have; a lot of this has happened over the last month for this project as it’s had me think of myself as a brand rather than a person.
Creating the pages for my physical portfolio was a much more straightforward task than I thought it would be because by this point I’d already come up with my ‘branding’.
There isn’t a portfolio without photographs of work and so even with my sketchy photography skills, it’s something that needs doing!
Our session with Tom from RP had us working on a quiz/reflection/a form of a sheet. Although in some respects it was a painful process it was extremely beneficial in discussing ourselves as designers and what we should consider when creating a portfolio.
After my initial research into websites that could host my portfolio site (Wix and SquareSpace) we were then shown other sites in the studio. While my head still saw Wix as the route I’d go down it was beneficial to see other sites that I could keep in mind for the future!
When reading the brief it asks for us to create a digital portfolio but doesn’t explain if that should be a website or a PDF that we would send to potential clients and employers.
